Get to know CityStudio Global

Our Vision
A global network of CityStudios, working locally and collectively for more sustainable, inclusive, joyful and equitable communities.
Our Mission
We support the launch of new CityStudios through a proven inter-institutional partnership model, customized training and support, and membership within the CityStudio Network.
Our Story
CityStudio Vancouver was created to accelerate sustainability in higher education and provide students with direct opportunities to work in and with the city on urban challenges.
CityStudio Vancouver was founded in 2011 with the support of founding partners, Simon Fraser University (SFU) and the City of Vancouver.

Since then it has grown into a collaboration between the City of Vancouver, SFU, University of British Columbia (UBC), Langara College, British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), and Emily Carr University of Art + Design (ECUAD).
CityStudio Global acts as the Network hub, helping other municipalities and academic institutions collaborate effectively and efficiently.
We began actively sharing and supporting the development of other CityStudios in Canada and abroad in 2015.

CityStudio operates as a social franchise. Our head office is situated on unceded Indigenous land belonging to the Coast Salish people in what’s commonly known as Vancouver, BC, Canada.
